Responsibilities:
  1. Threat Monitoring and Analysis:

    • Monitor and analyze network traffic and systems for unusual or malicious activity.
    • Use security tools and systems (e.g., SIEM platforms, firewalls, IDS/IPS) to detect potential threats.
  2. Incident Response:

    • Investigate and respond to cybersecurity incidents, including malware infections, phishing attacks, or data breaches.
    • Coordinate containment, eradication, and recovery efforts in response to incidents.
  3. Vulnerability Management:

    • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
    • Identify and recommend solutions to address security gaps.
  4. Security Operations:

    • Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and protocols.
    • Maintain and update security technologies, such as antivirus software and endpoint protection tools.
  5. Risk Assessment:

    • Perform risk assessments for new and existing IT infrastructure.
    • Provide recommendations to mitigate identified risks.
  6. Training and Awareness:

    • Educate employees on cybersecurity best practices and potential threats.
    • Promote a culture of security awareness within the organization.
  7. Compliance and Reporting:

    • Ensure adherence to relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS).
    • Prepare and deliver reports to management on cybersecurity status and activities.
  8. Research and Development:

    • Stay updated on emerging cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies.
    • Recommend and implement innovative security solutions.
Qualifications:
  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Certifications (Preferred):

    • CompTIA Security+
    • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
    • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
    • GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC)
  • Experience:

    • 2–5 years of experience in cybersecurity or IT roles.
    • Hands-on experience with security tools like SIEM, firewalls, and endpoint protection systems.
Key Skills:
  1. Strong knowledge of security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
  2. Proficiency in network security, cryptography, and operating systems (Windows, Linux).
  3. Analytical and problem-solving skills for investigating and mitigating threats.
  4. Familiarity with scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
  5. Effective communication and documentation skills.
Work Environment:
  • May work in an office or remotely, depending on the organization.
  • May require on-call availability to address incidents outside regular working hours.
